Loved it。 Loads of feels。 These two were tough， cheeky， lively， brave， clever， loyal， and a little quirky。 I was completely drawn into their story。 It was fast paced， medium burn， awesome world building， and I was completely invested in their mission and relationship。 Bosa is a total tortured hero。 He’s trying to make up for what he sees as his past failings to do the right thing for his people。 So when he starts to think something dodgy is going on with his current job， to apprehend Karina， he Loved it。 Loads of feels。 These two were tough， cheeky， lively， brave， clever， loyal， and a little quirky。 I was completely drawn into their story。 It was fast paced， medium burn， awesome world building， and I was completely invested in their mission and relationship。 Bosa is a total tortured hero。 He’s trying to make up for what he sees as his past failings to do the right thing for his people。 So when he starts to think something dodgy is going on with his current job， to apprehend Karina， he discovers the deception and decides to help her instead。 Karina figures her days are numbered after escaping from slavery， so she’s doing everything she can to mess things up for her abductor。 When the assassin that hands her back over to him offers his help， she’s totally ok with accepting。 This was a fast story， timeline wise， not just pace， but it wasn’t instalovey。 Bosa was a grumpy smartass， and Karina was wary and determined。 The bond growing between them was entertaining and touching to read。 Great fight scenes and action， （I love when things get blown up）， and the backstory about the turmoil with Bosa’s people has me completely invested in their recovery。 Great book。 。。。more

This was my first book by Ella Maven that I’ve read， and I’m already starting my next！ It was SUCH a good time， characters funny and lovable， and the sweet moments between them were adorable。 Read it in one day， I couldn’t put it down！！ Can’t wait for the next book！
